Our philosophy is to support an active and healthy lifestyle through a balanced macronutrient diet of whole food, as well as daily physical activity.

Whether your goal is to lose body fat, gain muscle mass, become healthier, or simply just feel better, it’s important to understand that your macronutrient profile and food quality is vital to achieving your goals. We will build your macro profile and provide quality food options, but it will be up to you to put in the work to stick to the plan. Every time you consume food or fluid you must ask yourself, “Is this helping me get closer to my goals?”

We focus on food quality first and quantity second. It is important to understand what macronutrients are and how they help you. Macros are carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They are essential to your survival and function. Carbs serve as your fuel for energy, proteins aid in recovery for muscle tissue, and fats help lubricate joints and improve hormone communication. The majority of food you eat must be real food that is minimally processed. Supplementation should be a last resort after all efforts are made to eat a balanced diet, full of meats, fruits, veggies, grains, and fat.

Your nutrition is one piece of the complete health puzzle. You also need daily physical activity to develop and maintain the cardiovascular, muscular, and skeletal systems to allow the body to function at its fullest resulting in optimal health and performance.

Our hope is the information we provide will serve as your foundation to build a healthier lifestyle. Our goal is to bring awareness to your food and fluid consumption in order to realize how it impacts your performance mentally, physically, and emotionally. The DRC community will be with you during this entire process to help encourage and support you. This challenge will be difficult. After all, it is a challenge. However, the most difficult part will be making the decision to commit.

Julia Larish

Julia knows a thing or two about not having time. She is the founder of Dead Red Conditioning and Dead Red Kitchen, owner of Dead Red CrossFit, assistant coach and head strength and conditioning coach for Scottsdale Community College Volleyball, and head coach for Club Arrowhead Volleyball’s 14U team. Oh and she happens to have 3 kids 5 and under.

Julia has spent the past 10 years teaching clients how to make holistic food taste amazing and incorporate it into a busy lifestyle.

Prior to opening Dead Red CrossFit, Julia received formal training as an assistant chef at EXOS. Her role included menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking meals specific for professional athletes macronutrient needs. While at EXOS, she cooked for athletes such as Larry Fitzgerald, Marshawn Lynch, Vernon Davis, Manny Ramirez, Dustin Pedroia, Andre Ethier and many more.
