AJ is a CrossFit coach at The DRC. He excels at introducing our new members to CrossFit and making them feel more comfortable. AJ goes above and beyond to help those at The DRC. He is currently a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the City of Peoria.
AJ was born and raised in Peoria, AZ. He enjoyed playing competitive sports growing up. For years, AJ was doing the typical “at your own pace” workouts and felt like he was in shape. However, he was craving something different. He discovered CrossFit in 2010 while researching different ways to stay fit for firefighting, as well as rehabbing from extensive knee surgery. AJ’s perspective on his own level of fitness immediately changed. He was instantly hooked because of the diversity in the workouts, the challenge of mastering the expansive movements, and most importantly, the community atmosphere. He became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer soon after.
AJ loves introducing new people to CrossFit and showing them that anyone is capable of doing it, regardless of their current fitness level or experience.
“I feel the best part of CrossFit is the ever-growing family, and the ability to scale all workouts to include all members.”
