Julia is an owner and co-founder of Dead Red CrossFit. She is the nutrition director and head of programming as well. Her role is so expansive that her fingerprint can be seen on pretty much everything that happens at The DRC. Julia currently serves as the assistant volleyball coach and strength and conditioning coach for the Scottsdale Community College (SCC) volleyball program. In addition to this, she is the head coach for Arrowhead Volleyball Club’s 14U team.

Julia was an All-American volleyball player at SCC and went on to play D1 at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She finished her college career making the All-Conference Tournament Team at Regionals. In addition to this, she was All-State and All-Region at Centennial High School (Peoria, AZ). She has a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. She spent 3 years as an assistant chef and performance intern at EXOS (formerly Athlete’s Performance). Julia is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer and a certified USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.

Julia was introduced to CrossFit in 2011, and like most people became quickly addicted to the methodology. The DRC has been a dream come true for Julia because she has been able to integrate her expansive experience and knowledge to help others reach their goals through fitness and nutrition.

“The thing I enjoy most about what I do is the opportunity to inspire women to develop a passion for fitness and become stronger than they had ever realized.”
